Anyone know anything about this: http://url.ie/l3z Is it a essentially a 'toy', or could it be useful? I'm tempted, stop me!

Wow another ultra portable. I don't know it, but if you shop around you might get an original Eee for similar. (See http://is.gd/1guZ but I don't know the company). That is a toy for me but an excellent one.

For Mrs Wavey it's her main Computer.

How on earth do they get away with claiming "and with built in Wi-Fi technology you can be mobile wherever you are"?

At least the Eee supports windows (familiarity and all that...). Thanks. I'm getting tempted for a new gadget soon. Just need to make sure the wages last this month. Expecting a larger than normal CC bill (mainly holiday costs).

@ceedee: You can be mobile without being connected. Wi-Fi has nothing to do with being mobile :-)

@ocifant: Well yes. I can be mobile without moving a muscle... :)

The claim "you can be mobile" qualified by "with built-in wifi" surely implies that the site is suggesting a mobile internet connection, no?

In my (admittedly twisted) mind, wifi = tethered while 3G = mobile.

Spec wise it looks very nice for the price, whether build quality is upto a few knocks and bangs is another thing. I dont like that it says it won't run windows, just in case I didnt like the version of linux that it comes with.

@ceedee: Advertisers License I suspect :-) @steves71 Yes, the lack of Windows concerned me, as did the lack of support for external USB drives >4gb!
